Pigs feel most at home in the woods foraging and they love rooting around and finding all the deliciousness that mother nature has provided. We have chosen to raise our pigs in our forest with rotational grazing. This will allow the pigs to be happy and thrive while having a nice shade to relax. While they plow through the forest they do some amazing things such as turning the forest floor into nicely tilled ground allowing for new growth and ready for new more beneficial seed to be sown. Since we have an abundance of persimmon trees the pigs will get to spend the fall searching for and cleaning up the ripe persimmons that have fallen to the forest floor. This makes for some of the best tasting pork you have ever had.
Using a USDA certified butcher we will have several items your family is sure to enjoy. Our persimmon finished pork products will be ready early November. If you are looking to purchase a whole or a half hog for your family please contact us to see what we have available and the current pricing as well as when you can expect to pick up your meat. Supplies for whole and half hog purchases are limited so make sure to get your order in early so you don't miss out.
With our choice to forest raise our pigs they will spend no more than 30 days in a single area. By limiting the amount of pigs to a certain area for only a period of time allows us to continually rotate our pigs without destroying the ground and giving them new fresh forage regularly. With them tilling the ground for 30 days then letting that same ground rest for 11 months it will allow for a vibrant new growth for the next time any pigs visit that paddock.
